What Other Sport Do You Play Which Might Help Your Golf?

If you are just taking up golf, relating a sport you have played in the past to your golf swing maybe very useful in achieving a more sound golf technique.

Softball, Baseball, Tennis, Cricket are just an example of sports that have very similar biomechanics to golf.   For example: the chipping technique can be taught to be similar to a block in cricket…  Hands forwards, shaft angled towards ground.

A coach should always ask what sports a student has played in the past… Chances are the student will be able to feel and relate to a particular action if they have done it at some stage in the past.  Once the student can relate to a technique they can then refine the move to relate more closely to golf.

This makes learning golf quicker and easier for the student in a lesson.
