He may be young, but he’s got game!
Matthew is only 10, but has recently been invited to join the Cardinia Beaconhills Junior Pennant Team to practice and hone his skills. The team consists of boys between the ages of 13 and 17.
Golf is in the blood of the whole family… David, his father, plays off single figures and was runner up in the club championships.
Sarah, his mother, also plays at the club on a regular basis and is a very keen golfer and then there is his brother Michael, who also plays off single figures will be managing the Junior Pennant Team later this year.
Well last Sunday was Matthew’s day to shine. He was playing at the Cardinia Beaconhills Golf Links and came to the 5th hole on the Lakes course, an uphill par 4 dogleg of 310m.
He played two good shots up the fairway and was left with about 70 metres to the hole. He preceded to land the ball on the front of the green and watched it roll up to the pin and into the hole for a birdie 3.
A fantastic achievement for a great young player whose talent far outweighs his small stature. I am looking forward to seeing his game develop as he grows and matures.
Well done mate.
Here is a lesson report I did for Matthew and his parents a couple of months ago…
