String Line Putting Drill
Practicing your putting along a string line, and through a narrow goal, will quickly teach the golfer what they need to feel to roll the ball straighter towards their intended target.
To make a very inexpensive string line, all you need is 2 metal skewers and about 15ft of string.
In the following video, student Matthew Buff was pulling his putts to the left… After 5 minutes practice he started gaining the feel that when his ball went left he was turning his hands through impact too much. He focused on keeping the putter face squarer to the target both before and after impact and it wasn’t long before he was rolling the ball through the goals and into the hole nearly every time.
