Golf Instruction

Simplifying the complexities of the golf swing to assist in making the game of golf easier to learn is Davids goal in coaching.

David achieves results by:

  • Assisting students in simplifying their technique to give greater consistency.
  • Assisting students in understanding the different aspects of their game to identify weaknesses which are then reviewed, developed and practiced.
  • Assisting students in learning more about mental strategies to play more consistent golf and achieve greater success.

David’s knowledge of the golf swing, communication skills, passion and dedication to his coaching and his students, is the reason why a growing number of students are improving their golf and reaching their goals.

DAVIDS COACHING PHILOSPHY

Learning to play golf is not just about trying to do what your instructor tells you to. Simply trying to do what you are told by repeating an action is fine if you get it right… but…

What happens if you’re not doing it exactly how you are supposed to?

What happens if you misunderstood what the instructor was trying to get you to do?

What happens when you hit a few bad shots in a row but you are trying to repeat what the instructor told you to do?

“DO AS I SAY” lessons only keep the student in the dark… Ensuring if things aren’t working the instructor will get repeat business. The student becomes too reliant and trusting of what is being said to them.

Everyone who comes to my coaching tee, in their very first lesson, I teach them “How Golf Works”.  There are NO secrets.  I do not teach one swing pattern to all students. Everyone swings differently but by teaching Alignment Golf NOT Position Golf the student will benefit no matter what swing pattern they are using.

If the student gains an understanding of how the swing works, they will be clear about their objectives and the concept of why they must do certain actions in their swing.  This will ensure they are “on the same page” and trying to do what is needed. For instance… If a student understands why we need to impart backspin on the golf ball, they will try and do it the right way.  Not because I told them to but because they understand why they have to and how to do it.

By giving a little credit to golfers and assisting them in learning more about how golf works and not just telling them how to do it, each student will learn life long skills. Change the concept of how to do it, not tell a student what to do and expect them to get it right.
Learn not only what to do, but how & why.

If you want to improve, be prepared to try something different. Practice doesn’t make perfect. Practice only makes permanent.

So if you’d like to actually LEARN how to play better golf and not just do as your told then book in for a lesson now.
